DEVELOPER BLOG #02
A lighter development update this time: we launched the debug build and captured the faction-selection screen—the first decision a player makes—in the English UI.
At the beginning of Ashwind Chronicle, players choose one of four factions with distinct identities. Each card brings together a flag, head of state, and faction name so that the choice already feels like deciding whose history you are about to shape.
The Purifying Wind Alliance, Eizal Empire, Astral Ring Council, and United Life Federation each begin to suggest a different philosophy through their names and emblems.
Portraits make the factions feel like nations led by people, not simply colored territory on a map, adding a human story to the first choice.
Headings and buttons are localized together with faction and character names. Switching languages preserves the same composition and interaction.
A gold frame marks the selected faction. Pressing “Start Game” takes the player into the ashen world from that nation’s point of view.
The screen is still in development, but the logo, landscape, ornamental frame, and faction cards are beginning to speak the same visual language. Future updates will introduce more of the systems waiting beyond this first decision.
