DEVELOPMENT SNAPSHOT #13
Even a small emblem can carry the history of a unit. Today we look at three actual assets—from beginning to midpoint to the highest tier—within the ten-rank system that makes a commander's growth visible at a glance.
The earliest emblem is deliberately restrained. Before a commander has built a record, its open design leaves room for the story still to come.

At the midpoint, added detail lets accumulated merit read from a distance. It communicates weight before you ever inspect a number.

The tenth emblem is a proud destination for a long service record. We want spotting it on the field to say immediately: this is no ordinary commander.
The implementation has four soldier-side icons—trainee, regular, elite, and veteran—which change with unit level. Separately, commanders load one of ten rank emblems from a merit-derived level. A single unit card can therefore show the proficiency of its soldiers and the journey of its commander as two distinct visual layers.
How promotion should connect to rewards and personal stories remains an area for further development. Our goal is for this small emblem to become a mark that can eventually tell the player's own military history.
