What changes on the table when a scenario starts with one more orchard? This snapshot looks at a small food-balance adjustment in AshwindChronicle’s starting data. It is not a new production system: it is a revision to existing facility counts, output shares, and population mix.

What changed

A recent starting-data update changes one Orchard entry in one region from two facilities to three. Orchards produce grapes and figs. In that entry, the private output split also moves slightly—from about 67.742% grapes / 32.258% figs to about 67.734% / 32.266%.

Several population records also received small adjustments to the shares of farmers, merchants, and other occupations. This does not add a new employment system. It tunes numbers in the existing starting scenario, changing the conditions from which agriculture and local demand begin.

Why make such small adjustments?

When food has several varieties, the starting picture depends not only on the total amount but also on which goods are supplied, where they are produced, and how they are divided. Adding one facility and nudging an output share by a fraction of a percentage point are separate controls for shaping that starting point. These edits do not prove that shortages across the whole game are solved, nor do they guarantee a particular outcome.

The images are the actual Orchard, grape, and fig assets included with the game. They identify the facility and goods discussed here; they are asset illustrations, not before-and-after Debug screenshots.

What remains to be checked

The adjustment needs to be evaluated in a running scenario: how regional food supply and demand evolve, and what trade-offs appear alongside other goods. Further checks should consider the starting stocks, population mix, production shares, and trade together, ideally against a run with the adjustment reverted. That evaluation is still future verification, so we are not claiming a confirmed game-wide result.
